Bill, thank you for your kind words. It is indeed a most interesting and dramatically beautiful area. Your story is very interesting and I appreciate you sharing it. I bet things look a bit different over 40 years later. I visit this area in the fall to view and photograph the incredible scenery. I had a stroke of luck capturing the stillness of the lake. In years past, I had not been so lucky.

WOW. . . what a fine shot and memory rush this image brings back for me. In the late 60's I built the trails the lead to the Bells, and up East Maroon, and over Buckskin Pass. I spent a memorable night in freezing rain on the face of the "Bells" trying to rescue a fallen climber who in the end didn't make it. I've seen many images of the "Bells" over the years but yours has the emotion that reminds me of the beauty and power of this special mountain.
